What Happened to the "PEOPLE" in," We the People"

I was under the impression the government of the United States worked for the "People" of the United States. I was under the impression those elected to the Congress and Senate "by" the people, sent to Washington "by" the people, were there "for" the people. I know, I know oh silly me. We elect them, we send them there, we pay them for the rest of their lives in most cases and when it comes times vote on issues, the people aren't important, winning is the the big "thing". The "People" were the means to the end. The end being, getting elected.
For example: right now in the Senate, there is a bill, a financial bill being bounced about and what's best for the people has taken more than just a back seat. What is important to the majority party at this time is winning, beating the other side, fixing it so if anyone votes against it they will look bad. Example:(1)

THIS IS CRAZY!! The sad truth is they are already trying to figure out "the score" and most of the senators, if not all have never even read the bill. They don't know what it says. Let me repeaT myself, they don't know what it says!!!! They do know, however, that it is a majority written bill so they will blindly follow along......
Some how, some way this madness has to stop. WASHINGTON HEY!! HEY!! OVER HERE, IN THE COUNTRY!! IT'S US YES, US, "WE THE PEOPLE"! STOP THE MADNESS AND START LOOKING OUT FOR US, ALL OF US . THAT IS OUR MONEY YOU ARE THROWING IN THE WIND, IT IS OUR CHILDREN'S AND GRAND CHILDREN'S MONEY YOU ARE WASTING ..................
